Why aren't you on 88.3 The Wind anymore?
We resigned from 88.3 The Wind in late July 2014. After receiving many requests to explain what happened we decided to write a blog about it. Please read that blog by CLICKING HERE and then let us know if you have any additional questions.
Questions about the Talk Show
Q: What station are you doing this new show for?
A: None. The new show is just you and us together. There isn’t a big company or network or station behind this, it’s just us in a grassroots attempt to start something new that scratches the itch for authentic and deeper conversation on the things that are impacting our culture.
Q: Will the show be like radio or a podcast?
A: Both! We want to try something new that combines the fun and interactivity of a live radio show with the accessibility and freedom of a podcast. So you can listen and participate when it’s live, but also have complete access to it after the fact. We are excited to innovate with you on what this brand new hybrid might sound like!
Q: What will the show be about?
A: Our heart beats to celebrate what make us different and what brings us together. How that thing that we think makes us weird is exactly the thing our creator put in there to be part of His plan. We want to erase the “us vs them” mentality that seems to permeate the Christian culture by trading in labels for love, and judgement for grace. To eliminate the fear of having dialog with other viewpoints while remaining faithful to the truth we see in the creator of all things, and the words he left for us to ponder. Oh, and of course the random, quirky, fun we couldn’t help from happening if we tried.
“Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness. But that doesn’t mean you should all look and speak and act the same” Ephesians 4:6,7
Q: Will it be similar to the podcast you used to do, Shoe the Doe?
A: Yes!! In fact, we see this as the next step in the evolution of Shoe the Doe (a spoonerism for “Do the Show”). The same conversations and fun you had there can be expected on a daily basis with DNA Live. Who knows, maybe we will even keep the Shoe the Doe name!
Q: Why do you need my $3 a month?
A: It’s a group effort! Just as the show itself is innovative and new, we knew that finding the funding for it would have to be innovative as well. We’ve put the dollars into getting the microphones and equipment to get started, but now we need monthly support that can provide for the phone number, interactivity, and internet speeds necessary to make it happen. As the support for the show grows naturally from people who want to listen so will the ability of the show to evolve in new and fun ways. We see it as a journey together and your simple gift puts you right on that path with us! Not to mention, there are some nice perks to being a supporter as well that you can see at the Funding page!
